Here’s what’s new in the church library.
Some of our readers who enjoy works by Francine Rivers have suggested placing the following books in our library. In THE SCARLET THREAD, two women, centuries apart, are joined by a tattered journal as they contend with God. Sierra discovers the handmade journal of her ancestor Mary, a young woman who was uprooted from her home only to endure the harsh
conditions on the Oregon Trail. Many of the issues they face are remarkably similar as they learn to surrender to God’s unconditional love.
Rivers book, SONS OF ENCOURAGEMENT, contains 5 novellas about biblical men of faith who served in the shadows of others. These men lived in ancient times, yet their stories apply to the difficult issues we face in our world today. Each novella includes a Bible study, perfect for individual use or group discussion. In this book you will meet Aaron, the priest; Caleb, the
warrior; Jonathan, the prince; Amos, the prophet and Silas, the scribe.
We also have Rivers books about 5 women whom God chose to change eternity, each faced with extraordinary-even scandalous- challenges. You will meet Bathsheba-Unspoken; Tamar-Unveiled; Rahab-Unashamed; Ruth-Unshaken and Mary-Unafraid.
Come into the library to check out these books along with others by this beloved author.
See you in the Library.
