Scholarship Fund Campaign

Did you know that Faith Lutheran Church, over a period of many years, has provided a tuition scholarship to our young members who choose to attend an ELCA college? These scholarships have been awarded by the Learning Task Group (formerly Board of Education) through a line item in their budget.

Due to budgetary concerns, this line item was dropped from the Learning Task Group's budget last year. A member of Faith generously provided the funds to insure that the scholarships were maintained.

Our Task Group feels strongly that these scholarships should continue to be awarded. In doing so, we, as a congregation, support Lutheran colleges in their mission to educate. More importantly, we support our young members who choose to attend an ELCA college. These young people have been visible in our church serving as acolytes, readers, ushers, Church School assistants, or sharing their gift of music, to name a few. The amount we award is often matched by the college.

As a Task Group, we are committed to acquiring the funds to continue this program. Instead of a budget line item, we have decided to establish a Faith Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund. We are grateful that some organizations within the church have already stepped up to the plate to support our efforts by contributing to this fund.

You can also help in this effort by:

•designating memorials/gifts/bequests to the FLC Scholarship Fund.

•directing your Thrivent Choice Dollars (or a portion) to the Fund.

• supporting the upcoming fund-raising efforts to build the Fund.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter, The Learning Task Group:
